Affiliate Disclosure (Master Page)

Last updated: 02 February 2026

This is the Master Affiliate Disclosure for the FPV School Hub ecosystem. For the index of master policies and site-entry pages, see:
/legal

Some FPV School properties may publish a shorter "site-entry" affiliate disclosure on their own domain. Those pages are intended to point back to this Master page for the full disclosure and definitions.

Where a property publishes a site-entry affiliate disclosure, that page is intended to summarise what is actually used on that specific property at that time, while this Master page provides the overall definitions and approach across the ecosystem.

This Master policy applies across the FPV School Hub ecosystem (websites, tools, communities, and content) where affiliate links, referral links, tracked partner links, discount codes, or similar commercial tracking mechanisms are used.

1. Purpose and scope

This Affiliate Disclosure explains how affiliate links, referral tracking, and commercial relationships may work across FPV School properties (websites, tools, communities, and related content) where such features are used.

It applies to any page, post, download, email, newsletter, video description, podcast description, social post, or resource that:

  • includes affiliate links, referral links, or tracked partner links; or
  • contains endorsements, recommendations, reviews, or product/service mentions that may be connected to a commercial relationship.

2. What affiliate links are

Affiliate links are special links that can track when someone clicks through to a third-party website and later completes a qualifying purchase or action.

Affiliate links may include referral links, tracked partner links, and discount/coupon codes that attribute a purchase or sign-up to us. Different programmes use different tracking methods and time windows. If a qualifying action occurs, we may receive a commission or referral fee from the third party.

Affiliate tracking is typically handled by the third party (for example, an affiliate network or retailer). It can involve cookies or similar technologies on the third party's website, and sometimes on ours (depending on the setup).

In some cases, we may also receive non-monetary benefits (for example, account credits, free access, or discounts) as part of a partner relationship. Where relevant, we aim to disclose this clearly in-context.

Not every tracked link results in a commission or benefit, and commission structures can vary by programme. Where practicable, we aim to label affiliate or partner relationships clearly in-context so users can recognise commercial links before taking action.

3. What happens when you click an affiliate link

When you click an affiliate link:

  • you are usually taken to a third-party website (the retailer or service provider);
  • the third party may use tracking technologies (commonly cookies or similar identifiers) to attribute the referral;
  • if you later complete a qualifying purchase or action, we may earn a commission or referral fee.

In most cases, using an affiliate link does not change the price you pay, but pricing, availability, tax, delivery, discounts, and refunds are controlled by the third party.

In some cases, retailers may run different promotions, bundles, or pricing rules that vary by campaign or link source, and these are controlled entirely by the third party.

Important notes:

  • affiliate tracking windows vary (for example, a referral might be credited if you purchase within a set number of days);
  • the transaction is between you and the third party, not FPV School;
  • third-party terms, pricing, delivery, refunds, warranties, and support apply.

For how we handle personal data and tracking technologies, read:

  • Privacy Policy: /legal/privacy-policy
  • Cookie Policy: /legal/cookie-policy

4. Clear disclosures (how we label affiliate content)

We aim to make affiliate relationships obvious and easy to notice.
Where practicable, disclosures are placed close to the affiliate link(s) or within the same content context, so users see the relationship before taking action.

Where affiliate links or commercial relationships are present, we use clear disclosures such as:

  • "Disclosure: This page contains affiliate links. If you purchase through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you."
  • "Ad / Affiliate" (short label, where space is limited)
  • "Affiliate link"
  • "Sponsored" / "Paid partnership" (where applicable)
  • "Product provided for review" / "Loan unit" (where applicable)

Affiliate links are only one type of commercial relationship. Some content may also involve sponsorships, paid partnerships, or product samples, and we disclose those separately where applicable.

Disclosures may appear:

  • near the start of the page/article;
  • near the affiliate link(s);
  • in a footer section of the page;
  • in video descriptions, social posts, or email newsletters where links are included.

Some affiliate programmes may require specific disclosure wording; where applicable, we will include any required wording alongside the relevant links or pages.

Some content may be created by guest contributors or partners. Where such content includes affiliate links or other commercial relationships, we aim to ensure the relationship is disclosed clearly in-context.

5. Editorial independence and integrity

Affiliate relationships should not override usefulness, safety, or accuracy.

We aim to:

  • recommend products/services because we believe they are relevant and useful, not because of commission rates or commercial incentives;
  • avoid misleading claims, exaggerated performance statements, or "pay-for-praise" behaviour;
  • separate editorial decisions from commercial incentives as far as reasonably possible;
  • update or correct recommendations when we learn something material has changed.

Where we publish rankings or comparisons, we may consider factors such as safety, compatibility, reliability, value, and availability. Weighting can vary depending on the use case and the audience.

Where reviews, comparisons, or "best of" lists are published, they reflect our honest opinion at the time of writing, based on the information and experience available to us. They may be revised as products, firmware, regulations, or market conditions change.

6. Hub-wide affiliate and partner services (ecosystem view)

Because the FPV School Hub spans multiple properties, affiliate programmes can differ by site, tool, country, and content type.

6.1 How to know what is actually active

The "site-entry" disclosure on a specific property (if published) and the disclosures on the specific page you are reading are the most direct indicators of active affiliate use.

As a practical priority order: (1) disclosures shown on the specific page/content you are viewing, then (2) the property's site-entry disclosure (if published), then (3) the Legal Hub Registry for navigation, with this Master page providing the overall definitions and approach.

Site-entry disclosures are intended to identify what is actually used on that specific property, while this Master page provides the overall definitions and approach across the ecosystem.

For a central overview of which properties link to which master policies and site-entry pages, see:
/legal

6.2 Common categories we may use (non-exhaustive)

Across the ecosystem, affiliate/partner links may relate to categories such as:

  • FPV hardware and electronics (frames, motors, ESCs, flight controllers, cameras, VTX, radios, goggles);
  • batteries, chargers, tools, and safety equipment;
  • simulators, software, plugins, and digital services;
  • educational products (courses, books, training resources);
  • hosting, infrastructure, or online tools used to run the Hub (where relevant to creators/tech audiences).

6.3 No central affiliate list (this Master page)

This Master page does not publish a live, complete, or continuously updated list of affiliate programmes used across the FPV School ecosystem.

Affiliate relationships can vary by property, country, content type, and time. For the most accurate information:

  • rely on disclosures shown on the specific page/content you are viewing; and
  • where a property publishes a "site-entry" affiliate disclosure, treat that page as the property-level summary of what is currently used on that specific site.

For an index of FPV School properties and their policy links (including any site-entry affiliate disclosures), see the Legal Hub Registry: /legal

7. Sponsorships, paid partnerships, and product samples

In addition to affiliate links, we may sometimes have:

  • sponsored content (paid collaboration);
  • paid partnerships (including campaign-based work);
  • product samples provided free of charge;
  • loan units (provided temporarily and returned after review);
  • free access to software/services for evaluation;
  • discount codes or partner offers (which may or may not involve commissions).

When any of the above applies, we aim to disclose it clearly, prominently, and in-context (for example, "Sponsored", "Paid partnership", or "Product provided for review").

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, sponsors and providers do not receive editorial control over our opinions, conclusions, or ratings.

A sponsor or provider may be asked to confirm factual details (for example, specifications), but this does not mean they control our conclusions or opinions.

8. Third-party responsibility (purchases, support, refunds)

Third-party websites control:

  • pricing, availability, shipping, returns, refunds, and warranties;
  • customer service and account issues;
  • their own terms and privacy practices.

FPV School is not a party to transactions you make with third-party retailers/providers, and third parties are responsible for fulfilling orders, support, refunds, and warranties. Any purchase dispute should be handled with the retailer/provider directly. This does not affect any rights you may have under applicable law.

9. Your choice and how to avoid affiliate tracking

You are never obligated to use affiliate links.

If you prefer not to:

  • do not click affiliate/referral links (you can search for the retailer/provider independently);
  • you can navigate directly to a retailer/provider without using our links;
  • you can use a private browsing window (note: this is not a guarantee);
  • you can adjust cookie settings in your browser and via our cookie tools (where applicable).

If you have questions about tracking, see:
/legal/cookie-policy
