Moderation Policy (Master Page)

Last updated: 02 February 2026

This Moderation Policy explains how FPV School may moderate community spaces, user submissions, and interactive features across the FPV School Hub ecosystem.

For the master index of legal policies and site-entry links, see:
/legal

1. Scope and where this applies

This policy applies to any FPV School property and feature where user interaction is possible, including (non-exhaustive):

  • comments (where enabled);
  • contact forms, submissions, and feedback forms;
  • user accounts and profiles (where enabled);
  • community spaces (where enabled), including third-party platforms used by FPV School.

Some properties may publish shorter "site-entry" rules on their own domain. Where present, those pages are intended to point back to this Master policy.

2. Core moderation principles

We aim to moderate in a way that is:

  • safety-focused (especially for FPV/drone topics);
  • lawful and proportionate;
  • consistent and explainable;
  • as transparent as reasonably possible.

Moderation is a risk-control and quality-control function. It does not guarantee that content is accurate, safe, or lawful.

3. What we may moderate

We may moderate:

  • user-generated content (UGC), including posts, comments, messages, uploads, usernames, and profile content;
  • links and media shared by users;
  • behaviour patterns (for example: spam, abuse, evasion, coordinated disruption);
  • activity affecting the security and availability of the Services.

4. What content and behaviour may be actioned

We may take action against content or behaviour that (non-exhaustive):

  • breaches our Acceptable Use Policy or community rules;
  • is unlawful, unsafe, or encourages wrongdoing (including unsafe drone operation);
  • is abusive, harassing, threatening, or discriminatory;
  • is deceptive (impersonation, scams, phishing, fake giveaways);
  • infringes intellectual property rights;
  • involves privacy violations (doxxing, stalking, unauthorised sharing of personal data);
  • is spam, SEO abuse, or automated manipulation;
  • attempts to bypass controls (ban evasion, prompt-injection, security probing).

4.1 FPV/drone-specific safety emphasis

We may restrict or remove content that appears intended to enable:

  • unsafe LiPo handling/charging practices;
  • illegal or reckless flight activity;
  • harassment, surveillance, trespass, or evasion of local rules.

This is to reduce foreseeable harm. Users remain responsible for safe and lawful operation.

5. Children and minors (safeguarding baseline)

Some FPV School properties are not designed for use by children and minors. Where age-restricted features exist, we may apply reasonable measures to enforce age-related controls.

We may remove content or restrict accounts where we reasonably believe:

  • an account is being used in a way that creates safeguarding risk; or
  • a user is misrepresenting age to access restricted features.

If a property is intended for general audiences, we still apply a safety-first approach to reduce exposure to harmful or illegal content.

6. How moderation decisions may be made

Moderation may be carried out using:

  • user reports and flags;
  • manual review by FPV School (or appointed moderators, where used);
  • automated filters and risk controls (for example: spam filters, rate limiting, keyword/rule-based blocks);
  • third-party platform moderation tools where we host community features externally.

Automated controls can reduce obvious harm, but they can also make mistakes. Manual review may be used where practical.

7. Reporting and escalation

If you believe content or behaviour violates our policies, report it using:

  • the relevant reporting tool on the property (where available); or
  • email: legal@fpvschool.com

Where possible, include:

  • the URL or location of the content;
  • screenshots;
  • timestamps;
  • why you believe it breaches policy.

We may prioritise reports involving safety, credible harm risk, or unlawful activity.

8. Enforcement actions we may take

Depending on severity and context, we may:

  • remove, hide, or edit content;
  • restrict posting, linking, or uploads;
  • place content behind review/approval (where enabled);
  • warn users or require changes;
  • suspend or terminate accounts;
  • block IPs or apply rate limits;
  • preserve relevant information for security, fraud prevention, or compliance purposes;
  • report unlawful activity to relevant authorities where appropriate.

We may act without prior notice where we believe there is an immediate safety or security risk.

9. No general obligation to monitor

We do not undertake a legal obligation to proactively monitor all content or activity. Users should not rely on us to catch harmful or unlawful content in every case.

That said, we may apply proportionate moderation and safety controls to reduce abuse and exposure to illegal content.

10. Third-party platforms and external communities

Some FPV School communities may be hosted on third-party platforms (for example: forums or community services). In those cases:

  • the third party's terms and moderation rules also apply;
  • their enforcement and tooling may differ from FPV School's own implementation.

We may still apply FPV School rules in parallel (for example: removing access to FPV School Services for serious breaches).

11. Records, privacy, and data handling (high level)

For security, abuse prevention, and moderation integrity, we may log limited data such as:

  • report details, timestamps, and moderation actions;
  • technical identifiers (for example: IP address or device/browser signals) where proportionate and lawful.

For details on personal data processing, retention, and user rights, see:
/legal/privacy-policy

12. Appeals and mistakes

If you believe a moderation action was incorrect, you may contact:
legal@fpvschool.com

Where practical, include:

  • what was actioned and where;
  • why you believe it was a mistake;
  • any relevant context.

We may not be able to reverse every decision (for example: where content was unlawful or preservation is required for security/compliance), but we will consider appeals in good faith.

13. UK-focused legal context (where relevant)

This policy is UK-focused (England and Wales). Where Online Safety Act duties apply to a specific FPV School property, we may use proportionate risk controls (for example: abuse prevention, reporting routes, and moderation measures) to reduce exposure to illegal content. Controls can vary by property and feature set.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the Services, technology, or legal requirements. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
