Community Rules (Master Page)

Last updated: 02 February 2026

These Community Rules set the baseline standards for participation across FPV School Hub community spaces (for example: forums, comments, community posts, chat-style areas, and any user-to-user features), where enabled.

For the master index of legal policies and site-entry links, see:
/legal

1. Who these rules apply to

These rules apply to anyone who accesses or uses FPV School community spaces, including:

  • visitors and readers;
  • registered users and account holders (where available);
  • community members, contributors, and moderators (where available);
  • anyone posting, uploading, messaging, reacting, or reporting content.

If you use community features on behalf of an organisation, you are responsible for ensuring your organisation complies with these rules.

2. How these rules relate to other policies

These rules should be read together with:

  • Acceptable Use Policy: /legal/acceptable-use-policy
  • Terms & Conditions: /legal/terms-and-conditions
  • Privacy Policy: /legal/privacy-policy
  • General & FPV Safety Disclaimers: https://legal.fpvschool.com/fpv-safety-disclaimers/

Moderation processes (where enabled) may be described in:

  • Moderation Policy: /legal/moderation-policy

If a specific FPV School property publishes a short "site-entry" community notice, it should point back to this Master page via the Legal Hub Registry.

3. Core principles

You must participate in a way that is:

  • lawful;
  • respectful and non-hostile;
  • safety-minded (especially in FPV/drone contexts);
  • constructive and non-disruptive.

4. What is encouraged

We encourage:

  • helpful, good-faith discussion and learning;
  • respectful disagreement and evidence-based debate;
  • clear sourcing where practical (for example: manuals, official guidance, reputable documentation);
  • reporting issues rather than escalating conflict.

5. Prohibited behaviour and content

You must not post, request, share, or promote any of the following.

5.1 Illegal activity and wrongdoing

  • content that facilitates unlawful activity or attempts to evade legal restrictions;
  • instructions or coordination for illegal drone operation, trespass, harassment, surveillance, or other wrongdoing;
  • fraud, phishing, scams, deceptive links, or attempts to obtain someone else's data or access;
  • attempts to bypass paywalls, access controls, account restrictions, or security measures.

5.2 Harassment and hate

  • harassment, threats, intimidation, stalking, or targeted abuse;
  • hateful or discriminatory conduct;
  • persistent unwanted contact, dogpiling, or attempts to silence others.

5.3 Privacy violations and doxxing

  • sharing someone else's personal data without a lawful basis and permission;
  • posting private communications or private material where it would reasonably be considered confidential;
  • doxxing-style behaviour, tracking, or coordination to identify, locate, or target individuals.

5.4 Dangerous or irresponsible FPV/drone conduct

FPV and LiPo batteries can cause serious injury, fire, or property damage.

  • do not promote reckless, unsafe, or unlawful flying practices;
  • do not encourage dangerous battery handling, charging, storage, or transport;
  • do not post "harm-first" or malicious build/flight instructions;
  • do not present safety-critical claims as guaranteed or universally applicable.

Users are responsible for verifying safety-critical information using authoritative sources and safe testing practices.

5.5 Exploitation, harm, and safeguarding (including children and minors)

You must not post, request, share, or promote content that enables harm, exploitation, coercion, grooming, or abuse in any form.

This includes any content or behaviour that targets, involves, endangers, or exploits children or minors in any way.

We may remove such content, restrict access, and take other protective steps where appropriate.

5.6 Spam, manipulation, and disruption

  • spam, repetitive posting, link dumping, or engagement manipulation;
  • automated posting or behaviour that degrades the service;
  • deliberately derailing discussions, brigading, or coordinated disruption.

5.7 Intellectual property infringement

  • sharing pirated, stolen, or unauthorised content;
  • uploading or distributing material you do not have the right to share;
  • encouraging infringement of third-party rights.

5.8 Impersonation and misinformation

  • impersonating FPV School, staff, moderators, or other users;
  • deceptive misrepresentation of identity, affiliation, or credentials;
  • presenting false statements as "official FPV School guidance".

6. Self-promotion, advertising, and affiliate links

Community spaces are not primarily advertising channels.

6.1 Self-promotion (limited)

Limited self-promotion may be allowed where it is:

  • relevant to the discussion;
  • not repetitive or disruptive; and
  • clearly disclosed.

We may remove promotional content that is excessive, misleading, or low-value.

6.2 Affiliate links and tracked links

If you post tracked links (for example: affiliate/referral links or discount codes), you must disclose it clearly and close to the link (for example: "affiliate link").

See:
/legal/affiliate-disclosure

6.3 Marketplace and transactions (where enabled)

Where buy/sell/trade or transaction features exist:

  • you transact at your own risk;
  • FPV School is not a party to transactions and does not guarantee listings, payments, shipping, or product condition.

7. Children and minors

Community spaces are not designed for children.

Where a minimum age applies on a specific FPV School property, you must meet that minimum age and follow any account/access requirements in place.

You must not target, contact, solicit personal information from, or otherwise involve children or minors in a way that could reasonably place them at risk.

If we believe safeguarding concerns exist, we may take protective action, including restricting access and escalating concerns where appropriate.

8. Reporting issues and safety escalation

If you see rule breaches, harassment, safeguarding concerns, or safety issues, report it.

Contact: legal@fpvschool.com

Please include:

  • URL / thread link;
  • usernames involved (if any);
  • what happened and when;
  • screenshots where relevant.

If there is immediate risk to life or property, contact local emergency services.

9. Enforcement actions

If we believe these rules are breached, we may take one or more actions, including:

  • removing or editing content;
  • issuing warnings;
  • locking threads or restricting posting;
  • rate-limiting, suspending, or terminating accounts (where available);
  • blocking abusive traffic;
  • reporting unlawful activity where appropriate.

We may act immediately where we believe there is risk to safety, security, the Services, or others.

10. Moderation notes (high-level)

We may use a mix of human and automated tools to reduce spam and harmful content.

We do not undertake a legal obligation to monitor all user content, and users should not rely on us to catch everything. However, we may take reasonable steps to keep community spaces usable and safe (including investigating reports and suspected misuse).

11. Changes to these rules

We may update these rules to reflect changes to community features, the Services, or legal requirements. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
