User-Generated Content Licence
Updated on 02 February 2026
This is a master UGC policy page.
This policy explains the licence you grant to FPV School when you submit or publish user-generated content (UGC) on our Services, and the key rules around ownership, permissions, and removal.
For the master index of legal policies and site-entry links, see:
/legal
1. What this policy covers
This User-Generated Content Licence ("UGC Licence") applies when you submit, upload, post, publish, or otherwise provide content through FPV School properties where UGC features are enabled, including (non-exhaustive):
- comments on posts/pages;
- community/forum posts (where enabled);
- messages or support submissions (where enabled);
- uploads (images, files, media) (where enabled);
- profile information and public-facing user fields (where enabled).
This policy should be read together with:
- Terms & Conditions: /legal/terms-and-conditions
- Acceptable Use Policy: /legal/acceptable-use-policy
- Community Rules (where enabled): /legal/community-rules
- Moderation Policy (where enabled): /legal/moderation-policy
- Privacy Policy: /legal/privacy-policy
2. Definitions
In this UGC Licence:
- "UGC" / "User Content" means any content you submit, upload, post, publish, transmit, or otherwise provide through the Services, including (non-exhaustive) text, images, video, audio, files, links, usernames/display names, profile fields, and metadata you choose to make visible.
- "We", "us", "our" means FPV SCHOOL LIMITED (England and Wales) and the FPV School Hub ecosystem we operate.
- "Services" means FPV School websites, tools, communities, and related features, including any UGC-enabled areas.
- "Public areas" means areas where UGC may be visible to other users or the public (for example: comments, forums, public profiles, public uploads, or public activity feeds), depending on the feature.
- "Private areas" means areas intended for direct communication or restricted access (for example: contact forms, support tickets, direct messages, or account-only submissions), depending on the feature.
- "Moderation" means any action we take to review, assess, filter, restrict, remove, preserve, or restore UGC for safety, quality, abuse prevention, dispute handling, or compliance reasons.
- "Third-Party Rights" means rights belonging to others, including copyright, trademarks, privacy/publicity rights, confidentiality, database rights, and contractual rights.
3. Your ownership and responsibility
3.1 Ownership
You keep ownership of your UGC. Nothing in this policy transfers ownership of your UGC to us.
3.2 Your responsibility (baseline)
You are responsible for your UGC and for the consequences of submitting or publishing it through the Services.
You must ensure your UGC:
- is lawful, safe, and submitted in good faith;
- is not harmful, abusive, misleading, or designed to cause disruption;
- does not infringe Third-Party Rights (including copyright, trademarks, privacy/publicity rights, or confidentiality);
- does not include personal data about other people unless you have a lawful basis and permission to share it;
- does not include confidential or sensitive information you do not have the right to disclose;
- does not contain malware, malicious code, unsafe files, or links intended to compromise security or users.
You must comply with the Acceptable Use Policy at all times:
/legal/acceptable-use-policy
3.3 Safety and FPV-related content
Where UGC relates to FPV/drone operation, batteries, charging, builds, or other safety-critical topics, you must not post content that promotes unsafe or unlawful behaviour. You are responsible for ensuring any safety-related statements you make are reasonable and not misleading.
4. Permissions you confirm you have
4.1 Rights and permissions
By submitting UGC, you confirm that:
- you created it, or you otherwise have all necessary rights, licences, consents, and permissions to submit it to the Services; and
- submitting it (and granting the licence in Section 5) does not breach any law, contract, confidentiality obligation, or Third-Party Rights.
This includes (where relevant) having permission to upload, publish, and licence:
- copyrighted material (music, footage, photos, text, graphics);
- trademarks/brand assets where usage could imply endorsement;
- private/confidential materials (for example: internal documents, non-public beta materials);
- materials subject to platform terms or restrictions.
4.2 People in your content (privacy/publicity)
If your UGC includes other people (for example: photos, video, audio, or personal information), you are responsible for ensuring that sharing it is lawful and that you have a valid basis and any required permissions/consents.
You must not upload:
- personal data about other people without a lawful basis and permission;
- content that invades privacy, facilitates harassment, or amounts to "doxxing".
4.3 Minors
Where UGC includes minors, you must ensure you have the legal right and appropriate consent to share it, and that doing so does not create risk or harm.
We may remove or restrict such content where we reasonably believe it creates safety, privacy, or compliance risk.
5. The licence you grant to FPV School
5.1 Licence grant (what you allow us to do)
When you submit UGC, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, host, store, reproduce, modify (for technical reasons only), distribute, publish, display, and otherwise make your UGC available for the purpose of operating, improving, securing, moderating, and promoting the Services.
This licence is:
- transferable and sublicensable (for example: to hosting, delivery, moderation, security, analytics, and technical service providers that help us operate the Services); and
- granted for as long as your UGC remains on the Services and for any limited period needed afterwards for backups, dispute handling, legal compliance, or security.
5.2 What the licence includes (non-exhaustive)
The licence includes the right to:
- host, store, cache, index, and back up UGC;
- reproduce, display, publish, communicate to the public, and distribute UGC as part of the relevant feature (for example: showing your comment publicly where comments are enabled);
- quote or excerpt UGC within the Services for context (for example: replies, moderation notes, or thread continuity);
- format, adapt, resize, compress, translate, transcode, or otherwise make technical changes needed to display UGC across devices, templates, and platforms, provided we do not intentionally change the meaning;
- create technical copies for performance, resilience, or security (for example: CDN caching, backups, or anti-abuse systems);
- moderate UGC (review, remove, restrict, preserve, restore) where needed for safety, abuse prevention, compliance, dispute handling, or policy enforcement;
- use limited excerpts of UGC for troubleshooting, quality control, feature improvement, and service analytics (for example: diagnosing spam patterns or improving template rendering).
5.3 Promotion and attribution
Where we use UGC in promotional contexts (for example: testimonials, quotes, or examples), we aim to do so fairly and with appropriate context. Where practicable, we may attribute UGC to your displayed username or profile name, unless you have requested anonymisation or the feature supports anonymous attribution.
Nothing in this policy requires us to publish, keep, or promote any UGC.
6. Public vs private content
6.1 Public areas
If you post UGC in Public areas, you understand that:
- your UGC may be visible to other users and/or the public, depending on the feature and your settings;
- other people may copy, quote, screenshot, share, or republish your UGC outside the Services, and we cannot control that once it happens;
- search engines may index Public areas unless a specific area is configured otherwise;
- even if we later remove or restrict access to UGC, copies may continue to exist elsewhere.
You should avoid posting anything you would not be comfortable being public.
6.2 Private areas
If you submit UGC through Private areas (for example: contact forms or support messages), we treat it as private in the ordinary operation of that feature, subject to:
- our Privacy Policy; and
- lawful requests, legal obligations, and security/safety requirements.
However, Private does not mean "never seen by anyone": authorised staff/contractors and service providers may need to access submissions to provide support, maintain systems, prevent abuse, or investigate incidents.
7. Removal, retention, and backups
7.1 Removal requests
Where a feature supports self-deletion, you may delete your own UGC using that feature.
Where self-deletion is not available, you can request removal by contacting:
legal@fpvschool.com
To help us locate the content, include:
- the URL/location (or a screenshot);
- your username/account identifier (if relevant);
- what you want removed and why.
7.2 When we may remove, restrict, or preserve content
We may remove, restrict, or disable access to UGC where we reasonably believe it:
- breaches these policies or the Acceptable Use Policy;
- breaches applicable law or Third-Party Rights;
- creates safety, abuse, harassment, fraud, or security risk;
- is spam, disruptive automation, or malicious activity; or
- should be preserved for dispute handling, investigations, security analysis, or legal compliance.
7.3 Backups, caching, and technical retention
Important notes:
- removal may not immediately remove copies stored in backups, logs, caches, or security systems;
- such copies may persist for a limited period for resilience, security, legal compliance, and incident investigation;
- we may retain records of moderation actions and related evidence where reasonably necessary (for example: to prevent repeat abuse, handle disputes, or comply with law).
7.4 Account deletion and thread integrity (where enabled)
If you delete your Account (where enabled), some UGC may remain visible where it is integral to a discussion thread or community record (for example: replies that others rely on for context).
Where practical and supported by the feature, we may:
- anonymise your UGC (for example: replace your name with "Deleted User"); and/or
- remove profile links, avatars, or identifying fields.
This section does not limit your rights under the Privacy Policy or applicable data protection law.
8. No obligation to host
We are not required to host, publish, or keep any UGC.
We may refuse, remove, restrict, disable access to, or take down UGC at any time where we reasonably believe it is necessary or appropriate to:
- enforce these policies, our Moderation Policy, or the Acceptable Use Policy;
- comply with applicable law or lawful requests;
- address safety, abuse, harassment, fraud, or security risks; or
- protect the Services, users, and third-party rights.
For how moderation is handled (where enabled), see:
- Moderation Policy: /legal/moderation-policy
- Acceptable Use Policy: /legal/acceptable-use-policy
9. Reporting and takedown requests
To report UGC that may be unlawful, infringing, unsafe, or abusive, contact:
legal@fpvschool.com
Please include (where possible):
- the URL/location of the content (or screenshots);
- what you believe is wrong and why;
- any evidence or context that helps us assess it;
- whether you are the rights-holder or reporting on behalf of someone else (if relevant).
For copyright concerns, see:
/legal/ip-copyright-takedown
9.1 Personal data in UGC (data protection)
UGC can include personal data. If you believe UGC contains personal data that should not be public (for example: private contact details, doxxing, or content posted without a lawful basis), report it using the contact above and we will review it in a reasonable way.
For data protection information and your rights, see our Privacy Policy:
